Hi there! My name is Emma, welcome! If you're new to Free Sparrow, this is a great place to start! This blog has taken on many forms and is the result of a lot of trial and error in the web space. My first blog was created in 2010, when I was an exchange student chronicling my adventures of my year abroad in Belgium (if you wish to peruse those stories, the blog is still active here). Upon returning to the States, I went through a few different blogs before finally landing on this one. Now, after another three year hiatus, I'm back to share my passion for art, fashion, wellness, and creative living!

Now for the nitty gritty stuff. As I said, I'm Emma Victoria! I'm an actress/dancer, recently moved to NYC and living the dream. I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and you better believe I am a huge ambassador of that CLE pride! After graduating from Cleveland State University, with my degrees in both Theatre Performance and French (minor in Dance), I moved to Orlando, Florida to continue my previously existing career with Walt Disney World, where I have been a cast member for 6 years now. Fall of 2017, I finally decided to take the plunge, fulfill a childhood dream, and move to the Big Apple!

Alongside my performing dreams, I am also an a handlettering and watercolor artist. I found this relatively new passion of mine about a year and a half ago an just totally ran with it! My business is called Cranberry Ink and I cannot believe the positive response I have received since sharing my art with my community! I love art in all its forms, and I surround myself in as much of it as possible. I'm a super passionate human who loves reading, writing, photography, hiking, the outdoors, music, and my faith. Friends and family are everything and I love real connection and conversation. Life is full of such beauty, and we are here to soak it up and experience it all!

Travel and culture has been a huge part of my life. Between my foreign exchange experience and my French studies, learning about and experiencing the world has been and always will be important to me. I speak French (oui oui!) and I'm in love with all things French. I'm basically obsessed with Paris and hope to move there someday! Something about that culture just speaks to me so profoundly. My life goals definitely include large amounts of travel and seeing the world, rather than "settling down" in one place. Some people may think I'm crazy. I say I'm adventurous!

When I first started this blog, at age 21, this was the last paragraph of my "About" page, and I think it still rings true:

"So why do I blog about fashion and girly things? Because that is still a huge part of me. I love clothes and I love fashion and I love vintage and crafting and food and photography. No matter where I go or where life takes me, those are parts of my personality. I started this blog to document them and share my creativity. I believe in living creatively and doing everything with artistry and class. This internet blog world is full of other people like me who have their own adventures to tell, and I love reading about them and being a part of this world."
